Ramappa temple is in Palampeta village which is at a distance of 60KM from Warangal. On the way, after crossing a village called Murugu, you will see a junction, take a left turn there and Palampeta is 11 KM from there. After going 1KM from the village, you will find the temple.

You will have to enter the temple crossing the west side wall. There are boards installed by Archaeological Survey of India to describe the temple's importance. Cross these boards and to your left is the Ranga Mantapam (Natya Mantapam). In the place between Inner temple and Ranga Mantapam, there is a small room which gives space for 10 members. From that place we can have Rudreswara's (Siva Lingam) Darshanam. This type of room space is called Antharalam. There will be blackstone wall dividing Antharali and Natya Mantapam. To the left of Antharalam, there is a screen on which carvings are made which sing Sapta Swaralu.

Natya Mantapam :

There is a dance floor in Natya Mantapam. There are black stone pillars on four sides of this dance floor. The ceiling was built based on these pillars. On these pillars carvings about Samudra Madhanam, Mohini Avatar, Tarakasura Samharam, Siva Kalyanam, Siva's Statues in Gajasura's stomach etc can be found.

At the centre of ceiling of Ranga Mantapam, Nata Raja image was sculptured. The carvings on the pillars cannot be described in words. Polishing was made at that time only, when there were no machines at all. There were carvings of Three Women with four legs, Men and Women combined etc on the walls. There were circular designs on the pillars. Small holes into which only a needle can enter are present on these pillars. On another pillar are the carvings of Rathi, Manmadha and Samudhra Madhanam. There were also carvings of women dancing on the pillars. They look very natural, just like real ones were pasted on the walls. 12 Women shrines at the top of a pillar outside the inner temple are special attraction in the temple. These dominate the Karnataka's Halebedu Sculptures.

Outside the temple, there was the sculpture of a women, who chain's shadow falls on her waist. It looks very natural.

Nandi infront of the main entrance of the temple is really wonder among the art of sculpture. The neck was turned aside, as it was listening to the orders of Lord Shiva. The position was like it gives us an impression that it was about to get up. To the right side of the temple is the Kitchen. Just beside it is the Kameswara Temple. To its left is the Kateswara temple. The was a big inscription in between Kateswara Temple and the center of Ramappa Temple. This inscriptions was in a combined Telugu and Kannada Language. The temple was built by Recharla Rudrayya in 1213. The villages donated for deity's services were written on it.

On the walls, out side the temple, there were sculptures of rows of Elephants, Ancient Stories, Hindi, Buddha, Jain and Muslim related people. It will take more than a day for people to see the whole temple for people who love arts.

Visitors of this temple can also visit Ramappa Lake, which is at a distance of 1KM from this temple. There is a cottage called Vana Vihar. But local people say it is not recommended to retire in that cottage at nights. Boating facility is available.
